Therefore, get your minds ready for action, being self-disciplined, and set your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

After awaking to a comfortable nights rest on the floor, we all packed up out of the hotel and headed back to Rush Center to begin day 24 our epic adventure across this epic country. The first 19 miles proved to be brutal. Why? Strong headwinds ranging from speeds of 15-20mph as we headed due south to connect with highway 156 and travel to Larned. After about an hour or so, we finally reached the turn and the winds thankfully changed from headwinds to a steady cross wind. Soon enough, after pedaling a steady cadence of about 16 mph we traversed through the city of Larned and crossed the Arkansas River. It was nothing spectacular and was flooded from the previous days rain. 20 more miles until lunch I found myself talking with Chaz about some meaningful subjects that I will never forget and he challenged me to reach my higher potential and to look at things in a more optimistic way. After passing Seward and Radium, we paused about an hour and chomped down some lunch consisting of bologna sandwiches, cookies, jello, and tortilla chips.

It proved to be delicious once again and fueled us all the way until we reached our destination into Nickerson. Toward the end, I told some of the riders how nice it was to see some trees, more than one dotting the roadside. It was a much needed change reminding me of the Kentucky landscape even more. At about the 5 mile mark me and Chaz took off in front of the others and raced each other to the support vehicle. Chaz claims he won the race„,however there was really no clear finishing point. Congrats Chaz in your noble efforts. In Nickerson, we had the privilege of staying at a local United Methodist Church just up the road from the downtown area. It was homey once again with a kitchen and ample space to lay my head. It was a nice accommodation even the opportunity of hosing off outside in replace of a shower.  Thanks to the Nickerson United Methodist for their generosity and hospitality, it is much appreciated.
