The sermon of your life in tough times ministers to people more powerfully than the most eloquent speaker.

I awoke to the feast of Continental Breakfast which consisted of granola, fruit, bagels, etc etc which really fueled me for the easy upcoming day. For the most part it was flat and gently rolling for the entirety of the ride except the first 5% climb which I believe was a great start for the day. At the first SAG spot I had relaxing time as I just stood and contemplated God’s creations for a considerable amount of time before making the descent. The meditation was much needed and it got my focus back on track. For the rest of the day, all I remember was the terrain was relatively flat and we traveled fast with a tailwind behind our backs. We all stopped at a small town of Cameron grabbed a quick bite to eat for lunch consisting of deli foods then continued on the road until Tuba City.

We met up with Chaz’s parents once again and stayed at an RV Campground behind the main hotel in town. The campground was one of lowscale compared to the ones we have stayed at in the past and only provided a small area for tent camping. However, we were served salmon croquettes, mashed potatoes, and peas this go around and I was even too stuffed for apple pie and ice cream. I really enjoyed relaxing throughout the day in camp and listening to several of the guys discuss some heavy topics such as Creationism versus Evolution. It was wonderful to hear the opinions of other strong Christianized men.

The rest of the night while the rest of the fellas were listening to an older couple play bluegrass music down a couple of sites, I was stuck within my sleeping bag finishing up an article in the pages of Outside magazine. I honestly don’t know why I didn’t force myself out of the bag to listen to the music, but something was holding me back and therefore after some time I found myself snoozing the night away.

Rose—Salmon Croquettes!

Bud—Getting the heck out of Tuba City

Thorn—I didn’t see the dinosaur tracks earlier in the day and did not listen to the older couple jam out on the banjo.
